I, like the alumni who posted earlier, am shocked to learn these stats. There is no way to explain how fabulous this school was. For most of the 20th century, it was a model of what other schools in the country wanted to be #1 or always in the Top 10in the *Country*. Math, science, business, the performing arts, architecture, and more were all taught by working professionals. It was like going to college before college; so much so, that many people were gainfully employed in their professions right out of high school. Cutting was a badge of honor. Only the best, brightest, and most talented from every corner of the city cut. Rich, poor and in-between, still mostly Black but by far more ethnically diverse than these numbers. It was located downtown in what was then a bustling, thriving metropolis. It probably took most people 30+ minutes to get there on a city bus (or two) or carpool, and it was worth it. I attended the building that was built in the 1920s. Gorgeous architectural details, and amazing theater. 8 stories covering a whole city block, plus a business school. It was an electric environment. It''s like Rome falling. So sorry to see this! (I can''t rate it as my time was many (many) years ago. Had to choose a star to submit my two cents. Good luck, Cass! Wishing you better days!)

I was shocked to see the scores of a school that prided itself on its challenging programs and respected graduates. It was a big deal to get accepted, and I was proud to be a second-generation student there. I remain proud of my diploma but wondering, if these scores are accurate, how it has gotten that way.

I was in the graduating class of 1963. Back then Cass was easily a 5 star school and ranked in the top 100 vocational /STEM schools in the U.S.How depressing to rate is barely a 1 star today.
