School Reviews

This small neighborhood school is a very special place, the school recently underwent refurbishment including air conditioning, and has a wonderful library, open creative space, large gym hall, separate canteen area, onsite before and after school club, and STEM lab (one of only 4 schools to have this in BVSD). The classrooms have high ceilings, many windows, and a nice vibe. Most of the teachers have worked in the school for more than 10 years which is testimony to the Principal which the kids affectionally call '' Mr. B''. If you are looking for a community and place for your child to thrive, with a great playground, and space to play outside on grass, please put this on your visit list.

Our son attends Flatirons as a second-grader. We are so happy with this school. It's a small school that offers an amazing sense of community among the students. With a smaller number of students in classes, teachers are able to address each student's unique learning needs. Our son is supported in small reading groups every day! The resources at Flatirons are truly outstanding from the dedicated teachers to the impressive availability of classes that encourage exploration of the arts and sciences. Lots of kids participate in extracurricular activities offered after school, a fun extension of the day. Over the summer, our son plays at the playground almost every day and counts the days until school starts because he's so excited for the year to begin! Flatirons is a diamond in the rough!
