I can't post enough good things about this school. From the high quality of education to the supportive teachers and staff who feel more like family at this point. We have been here since 1st Grade and now at the last year, I am so sad to see our time ending. The PTO goes above and beyond to provide wonderful experiences and the school truly stands out in comparison to other CMS schools. The principal is also highly visible and loved by all the students. Excellent choice for anyone who is considering.

Not the worst not the best. Good teachers but problem administrators which make it hard to keep quality staff due to poor support of teachers/students. I feel bad for the teachers that have to work under the current administration too much power tripping from both principals.

Quality education /teachers but the support staff and administrators can be disrespectful at times and stay on a power trip. Not sure how they keep employees. The teachers must really love their jobs or be new.

I would, without a doubt, recommend Highland Creek Elementary (HCE.) Like many, we were worried about our child going into Charlotte/Mecklenburg School District. We quickly learned that this isn't the case for HCE. Rest assured that the teachers and administrators are working hard to provide a quality education for the kids. Plenty of diversity in terms of student population and curriculum. Many of the data points found on this site are old. The school is no longer over taxed with too many students. A relief school fixed all that when it opened the fall of 2015. Now the teacher-student ratios are what I would consider normal in order for a child to get a great education. That, coupled with caring and competent teachers and administrators and it's a win-win for all involved.
