School Reviews

5   3/30/2010
Shelley's 1st/2nd grade program provides small group literacy periods for its students while the 3rd-6th grade programs offer substantive instruction in social studies, science, art, music, technology and P.E. in addition to their efficiently compacted language arts and math curriculum. A sizable addition has added dozens of new classrooms, an office suite and entryway. Parents, student teachers, service club members and can be found in classrooms at almost any time of the day. Extracurricular activities include an active student council and service club, after school art sessions with local artist Joseph Germaine, and a long-established Knowlege Bowl program. Shelley's teachers are a great blend of experienced teachers and well-hired new teachers. They seem to have a great love for what they do. We've had many interactions with the faculty and have been impressed with the way they've handled problem solving and idea gathering. Charter school? Private school? No way. We don't feel that we could pay for any better education than we receive at this public school in American Fork, Utah.
