I went to this elementary school and it was one of the greatest experiences of my life. I loved going here. The staff is amazing, and the people are kind. I learned so much going there, and I created lasting friendships.

I really don't like Southeastern that much. Why? Because of the grading! It's just unfair! You slip up and miss a lot of questions, your parents go full on rage! It makes kids hate their parents and the school! Then they want to transfer, that means less students for Southeastern!

This was my son's only year at Southeastern, so I can only speak to his experience. It was his worst year ever. I had a bad feeling at open house when his teacher did not interact with the kids and barely smiled. As the year progressed, we found her to be intolerant of children who struggle, and resorted to name calling and humiliation. I had never experienced this before! When I met with her she admitted to using "tough love" with my son in order to motivate him. This did not score high points with me. Communication between teacher and parents was less than satisfactory. PTA involvement is practically non-existent. The PTA president seemed to do everything with little support. Office personnel was o.k., although each time I entered the office it was as though they'd never seen me before. Very impersonal and cold. One of the shining stars of the school was the PE teacher, who was always kind to my son and went out of her way to talk to me when she saw me at the school. She also did a fabulous job with her interactive Underground Railroad project and field day. Another shining star is the librarian. Despite an extremely busy schedule, she always as a smile for the children.
