EXCELLENT academics and way different styles of teaching. my kids have learned way more in this school than any other they have been to. I would definitely recommend for higher achieving students for more rigorous practice.

I am concerned with the lack of recess or downtime. The day is stacked with academics the entire school day. No recess time. 15 minute lunch period. We are discouraged from forming a parent group and they do not seem to welcome parent participation. Test scores are not as great as one would expect from a school with a supposedly rigorous curriculum. I am surprised sometimes by the lack of education provided in certain areas. My husband and I were more educated by age 7 and 8 than my kids are here. I have to supplement, at home, what they should be getting from the school. Don't even bother with applying if you have a child with a disability. You will be better served by a public school with a supportive SELPA. At this school it seems that the SELPA coordinator is more concerned with saving the school money rather than keeping the focus on student needs, even though this is an illegal practice. I was reluctant to send my kids here but we couldn't get them in our first choice school because of the lottery. It seems to be one of the better options as far as Stockton is concerned but my children are not receiving the high quality education promised on the website and the in person visit to the school. We are very disappointed. Better try Aspire or Lincoln District instead.
